에렌디라 게레로(55)라는 이름의 이 여성은 코로나19로 잃은 사랑하는 이들을 추억할 수 있도록 곰인형을 제작해 주고 있다고 통신은 전했다.
고인이 즐겨 입던 옷을 재단해 인형을 만들고 유족이 원하는 문구도 수놓아 준다. 경우에 따라서는 유족으로부터 음성 파일을 받아 곰인형을 통해 고인의 음성이 나오게 만들어주기도 한다.
곰 인형 가격은 하나에 600페소, 한화로 3만3000원 정도다.
멕시코의 코로나1 사망자는 전세계에서 네번째로 많은 13만8000명에 이르고 있다.
게레로는 현지 언론과의 인터뷰에서 "완성한 곰 인형을 전달해주면 많은 이들이 울면서 이 인형을 껴안는다"고 말했다.
