Samsung Electronics Co. announced Sunday the integration of its proprietary operating system, Tizen, into the attention-grabbing artificial intelligence (AI) human companion, Ballie, showcased at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024.
Tizen OS, developed in-house by Samsung, goes beyond simple device connectivity, evolving into a platform that seamlessly connects operating systems, services, and content, enriching the user experience.
Previously featured predominantly in Samsung Electronics’ smart TVs and monitor products, Tizen OS now extends its reach to a variety of services, including Samsung TV Plus, offering diverse content without additional charges, and the digital art subscription platform, Art Store.
In 2022, Samsung Electronics introduced Tizen OS into a full-screen home user interface (UI) optimized for online video streaming services to enhance the content exploration experience, and into Gaming Hub for gamers.
Samsung Electronics said Tizen OS safeguards devices from external hacking threats through Samsung’s security platform, Samsung Knox, by automatically blocking unauthorized execution of malicious applications or access to phishing sites. The OS also encrypts information during device-to-device connections, reinforcing user privacy and security.
