Hana Financial Group has taken a unique step to help address South Korea low birth rates further, going beyond its earlier initiatives that included establishing 100 daycare centers.
Hana Bank, a bank affiliate of the financial group, is now actively bringing opportunities for in-house dating to their employees. The bank will host an event titled “Love, What Is It?”, the equivalent of dating games shows. The event invites unmarried employees, with separate activities for singles and couples. Single employees can participate in programs on November 30th, one of the event’s two days. The programs include a wine class and personality tests.
The initiative is considered rare in Korea’s financial sector, which is known for its hierarchy and less flexible work culture.
