The Smart Cottage blends space, appliances, and services into a compact housing solution. It was initially showcased at IFA 2023, Europe’s largest consumer electronics trade show held in Berlin in September 2023 and has since appeared at various domestic and international events.
Inside, the cottage comes equipped with LG’s premium “Objet Collection” appliances, including the WashTower Compact, a dishwasher, induction cooktop, microwave oven, and water purifier. It also features smart home technologies such as a smart door lock, CCTV, motorized blinds, and IoT devices - all of which can be managed through the LG ThinQ app. The cottage can also be upgraded with LG’s upcoming AI Home Hub, “ThinQ ON,” to create a fully connected smart home environment.
The Smart Cottage is designed to be energy-efficient, using LG’s heat pump HVAC system and high-efficiency appliances to reduce energy consumption. Customers can also opt for rooftop solar panels, allowing the home to generate a substantial portion of its own energy.
The modular homes are available in two configurations: the single-story “Mono” model and the two-story “Duo” model. The Mono offers an open-plan design, with a living room, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom seamlessly connected. The Duo separates the living spaces, kitchen, and bathroom on the first floor, reserving the second floor for the bedroom.
Customers can customize their Smart Cottage on the official website, selecting options such as plot location, model type, exterior and interior colors, and finishing materials. The website also provides estimated costs, helping customers tailor the home to their preferences and budget.
