SK Chemicals Co. announced circular recycling of PET for use in the containers of premium traditional liquor by Kooksoondang, a South Korean brewery for rice wine.

SKYPET CR, a recycled PET material developed via chemical recycling, breaks down waste plastic into molecules and converts it back into raw materials. This is the first time a traditional liquor container using a material derived from chemical recycling technology has been successfully produced.

Quality tests confirmed the containers remained intact even under challenging conditions, according to SK Chemicals.
